Crane Criterion
Bath, 1959
The Crane
Criterion Bath and Lavatory, equipped with the
company’s patented “Dial-ese” quarter-turn controls,
whose handles had clear Lucite knobs. In the
background is a decorative accessory that became
quite popular in the late 1950s — the so-called “genie
bottle,” a tall, tapered container that could
be used for bath salts or oils. The tub surround is
clad with the pre-grouted sheet tile that was just
coming into widespread use. |
