Cork-Tone: Goodyear, 1957
This illustration
of a Space-Age dressing table from 1957 shows
laminates on the march: Formica-like surfaces on the
storage unit and countertop, as well as
spatter-patterned vinyl flooring that comes halfway
up the walls. The result was evidently so
mesmerizing, you couldn’t take your eyes off the
floor. And: Those potted plants had better be
artificial. And: We like the way that purple
umbrella matches Milady’s drawers. |
